Wrap: minor as a Key Center Series
I know this session series has been a lot of information. It took me years to fully understand, and I’m still learning how to use this information. I wanted to put it all on the table, provide a reference for minor keys; this is it. We definitely expanded our sonic terrain. And, with study and application [writing songs in minor keys], we learn how all of this sounds to our inner ear.
And, keep in mind, there isn’t a universal agreement on naming scenarios. In discussions with other musicianers, I’ve found that typically everyone is right in how they name or compare/parallel chord systems. We encourage independent thought, and ask questions to help students form their ideas through challenging them; thinking it through with them.
It is up to each of us to use what makes the most sense.
