How Did You Do? Here’s Our Harmonization
Depending on the student, I use Amazing Grace [using G, C, & D – and Em for a better challenge], Twinkle, or other simple songs [pop tunes] that I know the student knows. We have to able to sing the melody to make this happen. And there are sometimes more than one harmonization answer. There is always a more complex version.
One chord songs are also great starting points for learning to strum and sing. Examples: Row Your Boat & Are You Sleeping? are both sung over any single Major chord.
Just as with figuring melodies out by ear, the song isn’t as important as the skill. Try more!
