Strumming D Major
Before we begin our chord switching for ‘first position, open string’ chords, let’s strum a single chord. There’s a lot we can do with a single chord.
D is a triangular shape (equilateral!). Get the chord in the fretting hand and experiment with some of the techniques in the video. Make sure you mute the 6th with the thumb. And find out where else the D shape can be moved [where it sounds good with the open A and D strings ringing].
And D7 is the ‘opposite’ triangle. Try it!
