Quality of Consciousness
There is so much in the world. A cascade of information bombards us continuously. We can easily be in more than one world in any given moment. For our creative life, we can be working on 20 streams at any given time. What we bring to each can be blurred by the others. So, it takes practice to bring our full awareness to the task at hand.
This can sound easy, yet as we engage in mindfulness, we can see/feel the shadows of other things we could be doing. An alternative to latching on to “I should be doing that right now”, we come back to center…”I am doing this, now, with full awareness”. It takes practice. And, as we develop this quality of consciousness, in this moment, depth of experience increases; we can be where we are, doing what we are doing, without concern about what happens next. When next happens, we bring the same focus to it.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, as I’ve heard the following statement, multiple times, in varying forms, over the last months…”what am I doing that possibly matters?” My answer has been…”developing your quality of consciousness”. This, in turn, helps others to do the same.
And, by quality, we mean the tone of it…full resonant beautiful tone brings forth new emergents, new possibilities.
- The hurrying stops, presence kicks in. Amble about for a bit, see what happens.
- The ordinary becomes extraordinary.
- You can be where you are, and there isn’t a problem.
- There’s something to ‘do’ while you wait.
- Silence may be preferred over the media-overload. Turning things off happens naturally.
- Deep Sync can be realized.
These benefits are really in no particular order, and we could add to it endlessly. Add yours.
