Listen for Next Frame of Am/C Pentatonic
Let’s shift now to Am/C to get all of the frames [of the pentatonic system, including the frames we learned from Em/G], on the books.
For Am/C, we already have frames 1 and 5. Next, is frame 4. It is at the nut. It includes open strings.
Our first task is to try to figure out the pattern using our ear/voice. Again, maybe you’ve done this for the entire fretboard…mapping the sounds.
Play Am/C pentatonic [frames 1 & 5] and figure out the same sound, at the nut. There are no new tones, and we won’t have the high A.
Hint: the ‘tuning tones’ [5 frets] will be the open strings [except the C tone].
Our answer is on the next plate.
