happy dance [piano version by aaron urbanski]

this is very meaningful to me, & it’s a first.
aaron urbanski’s piano arrangement of happy dance.
here’s the original recorded in 1999.
happy dance
rarely [only once - this one] have i written a song instantly. arose at 4 am at the guitar institute of indianapolis, picked up the guitar, & played happy dance all the way through for the first time ever. Having Native American heritage, I do consult my dreams as a creative source. The subtle realm delivered this song – the fingerings were automatic – following the melody. Most artists have this type of experience at some point. If it happened everyday, it may lose its impact. Even just once in a lifetime is good to me.
Aaron learned it by ear after getting 12 stone row [in 2000 or sometime around then]. He says, “I played it a lot when people would request me to “play something” on piano. Listening again recently I noticed some differences & changed a few notes. Lots of subtleties in the original recording with touch and resonance that are basically impossible to do on piano!”
I think he’s done a stellar job. This is very meaningful to me & I am thankful. Look forward to seeing Aaron’s progress as a musician/composer over time.
And, he did another [reflective surface], which I will share in a future post.
